Ciao (Hello), and welcome to the Verso L'Alto Gazette! This newsletter is named after Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati whose birthday is today, April 6th!
Who Was Pier Giorgio Frassati?
Pier Giorgio Frassati was an Italian Catholic activist and a member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic. He was dedicated to social justice issues and was known for his work with the poor and sick.
He was an avid mountaineer and saw mountain climbing as a spiritual exercise, a way to reach "verso l'alto" - toward the heights, both literally and spiritually.
